The graphic in the description should be updated. The description says “Consider the input array below.” but graphic does not show the array. Instead it shows two portions of the array and how those portions are merged.

an array of interval pairs is given as input where each interval has a start and end timestamp. These are not two different portions of an array. Rather example has been given of how an array of interval pairs is merged with a different number of array elements for two arrays. It has been explained in detail in the lesson afterward. Hope this helps.
