Why not provide the formula for Maintainability and Reliability?

According to this document

M(t) = 1-e^-u*t with u = 1/MTTR

It would be nice to provide the formula since you’re giving the definition.

Hi @Cedric_Vidal

You have a very valid point, and we highly appreciate the input. As a matter of fact, we also considered adding formulae while curating the content for this section, but since our main focus of this course was to deliver all these technical concepts as less mathematically complex as possible, we only shared some easy-to-remember and straightforward mathematical expressions to put forth the point that these characteristics can be mathematically defined as well.

We defined Availability using a mathematical expression because it didn’t depend on explaining a complex probability distribution, unlike Maintainability, which requires a proper explanation of exponential distribution for some users. So, to cater to a wider variety of learners and keep things clear and unconfused, we purposefully avoided complex mathematical expressions to define Maintainability and Reliability and decided to rely on their qualitative definitions.

Once again, thank you for your feedback. We’ve marked this suggestion as a possible revamp point for our next iteration.
