Imagine that interviewer/interviewee agree that the system needs to scale (e.g. “Build Facebook” question type) and then immediately lean towards a NoSQL storage solution. Once the system is designed to scale horizontally (i.e. “throw hardware at the problem” approach), does it really make sense to spend valuable time doing simple math?
